Travel Toothbrush San Francisco, CA, USA, Friday, 27 May 2011 10:23pm

I've been steadily moving out of my apartment. The bulk of the stuff that I could easily do without went into my storage unit two weeks ago (Thanks Tinny and Jarek!). Now I'm getting rid of the things I can't easily do without. I gave away my desk on Craigslist last week. Dan helped me donate/recycle a full pickup load of computer equipment yesterday. And today Jenny and I dropped off some hazardous materials at the dump and did a couple runs to the storage unit to store things like my clothes, my kitchen utensils, my stereo, ... and my toothbrush. No more fancy electric toothbrush—from here on out it's the travel toothbrush for me. Sadly, I'm out of the honey-flavored toothpaste I picked up in Mongolia.

I also cashed in my change jar...

Coin Count
Quarters 148
Dimes 501
Nickels 257
Pennies 1505
Total: $115.00. What're the odds of it coming out to an even dollar amount? That's like a one per cent coin cidence or something! Another coincidence: I turned in the coins at a supermarket that I rarely visit—it was the closest with a change-counting machine—and, just after finishing with the coins, I ran into an old friend there who I haven't seen in years!

I think I'm going to miss my motorcycle more than my toothbrush. It's now parked at the house of some of my diving friends. They're going out of town tonight, so I won't have a motor vehicle for my last weekend here. It may turn out to be a relief to have it out of my hands. I've been waking up at 4am, thinking about all of the stuff I need to do before I go. Now that quick errand-running is impossible, maybe I'll be able to relax a bit more.
